Fractional Project Management
Experienced project leadership for operational and confidential projects, bringing structure, coordinating internal teams and outside partners, and following through without adding a permanent position.
Experienced ownership when it matters
Why Fractional Project Management
Some projects are too important to handle casually, but do not justify hiring a permanent project manager. Fractional project management gives your company experienced project leadership for the time and support the project needs.
That can include ERP implementations, acquisitions, facility relocations, manufacturing build-outs, operational startups, interim operational leadership, process mapping, and PMO setup.
Some projects also need to remain confidential, with planning kept at the ownership or executive level until the company is ready to communicate more broadly.
Projects often get assigned to employees who already have full-time responsibilities within the company. Sometimes responsibility is loosely shared, or no one is clearly assigned to manage the whole project. Even when someone is assigned, their regular work does not disappear.
A purchasing manager, for example, still has orders to place, suppliers to follow up with, and shortages to resolve while also being asked to manage an ERP implementation. They may know purchasing inside and out, but that does not mean they have the time or experience to coordinate the implementation across the company and with outside partners.
Without enough time, relevant project experience, or clear responsibility, work can slow down. Decisions get delayed, vendors wait for answers, internal teams work from different assumptions, and leadership may not have a clear view of what is open, late, or at risk.
An experienced fractional project manager takes responsibility for keeping the project organized, coordinating the people involved, and following through—without making it another employee’s second job.
