Sean has served as a Project Manager at two companies where I was a senior executive - Construction Specialties and Component Hardware Group. During the 10+ years that we have worked together, Sean consistently demonstrated outstanding leadership, strategic thinking, and exceptional project management skills that have made a significant impact on these organizations.
Sean excels at overseeing complex projects from initiation to completion. He possesses a unique ability to coordinate cross-functional teams, manage resources efficiently, and deliver results on time and within budget. His attention to detail and proactive problem-solving approach have prevented potential setbacks and ensured project success, time and again.
One of Sean’s most impressive qualities is his ability to hold people accountable. He communicates clearly and effectively with stakeholders at all levels, keeping everyone informed and engaged throughout the project lifecycle. His dedication to transparency and collaboration fosters a positive and productive work environment. Although holding people accountable may make some people uncomfortable, Sean achieves this in a positive manner.
Sean motivates team members, resolves conflicts diplomatically, and builds trust among colleagues and clients. These qualities have earned him the respect of the team and contributed to a culture of excellence. Sean’s expertise was actively pursued by the employees of Construction Specialties and Component Hardware Group.

“In my entire professional career, I have never seen a contracted project manager get their hands dirty, let alone climb into a forklift to help move equipment or a scissor lift to help diagnose electrical issues.”Matthew EdwardsManufacturing Process Engineer, Construction Specialties

I worked with Sean on the 2-year start-up project of a new manufacturing facility. While working with Sean during that time, I can honestly say that to call Sean a “hard worker” is a huge understatement. He would go above and beyond in ways I have not seen other project managers or leaders do. In my entire professional career, I have never seen a contracted project manager get their hands dirty, let alone climb into a forklift to help move equipment or a scissor lift to help diagnose electrical issues.
His attention to detail and diligence in keeping the project timeline on track kept multiple departments such as Engineering, Plant Management and Production Management accountable and often put us ahead of schedule on project milestones. His wide range of knowledge was a tremendous asset several times when troubleshooting various building build-out hurdles ranging from county fire codes to zoning requirements for external gas tanks. He is not afraid to reach out to vendors and hold them accountable for missed or delayed timelines or to get quotes to determine best pricing.
I personally watched him step into temporary leadership roles on multiple occasions while the company looked to fill the roles with more permanent solutions during the build-out process. These roles ranged from Plant Manager all the way down to a floor supervisor. Sean’s ability to lead and motivate departments and personnel was a huge asset when we needed to move the project needle in the right direction throughout the project’s lifespan.
Sean’s knowledge and experience in ERP system implementation are also impressive. Having the opportunity to work beside him during the initial development and implementation phases of our ERP system was extremely educational. He demonstrated his in-depth knowledge of how these systems operate effectively and the steps that need to be taken to onboard an ERP system into a facility to achieve optimal results.
Beyond his experience and knowledge, Sean is also a fantastic person to work with. Even though he was a contractor, he came in every day with more dedication to the project and its success than I saw from even some of the upper managers at times. He was an absolute pleasure to work with and is the first person I would recommend to any upper manager or board member for any large-scale project that needs to succeed.

When I was VP of IT at Caplugs in Buffalo, New York, Sean was my project manager to lead our ERP system move from Microsoft NAV 3.7 to NAV 2013. It was a multi-year, multi-million-dollar project with more than a thousand customizations and a number of ISVs that all had to come together to launch. We went live across all domestic locations without incident, and the project was viewed as a success by everyone involved. Projects like that do not fail on the software. They fail on the people, the follow-up, and the hundred decisions nobody owns.
Sean owned them. He held our partners accountable and was not afraid to challenge the status quo when the easy answer was not the right one. He gave us board-ready executive summaries throughout, which meant transparency and communication went hand in hand rather than one arriving after the other. When something went wrong, I heard about it immediately. That is rarer than it should be, and it is the single most valuable habit a project manager can have.
What set him apart was how he managed the team over the long haul. A multi-year implementation wears people down, and Sean saw the fatigue before I did. He kept people motivated, recognized individual and team contributions along the way, and made a point of celebrating wins instead of rolling straight into the next milestone.
He also handled the small things that get overlooked and quietly cost you momentum - lunches, meeting rooms, and travel for our teams. None of that shows up on a project plan. All of it matters when you are asking people to give you over two years of their working lives.
I would work with Sean again without hesitation, and I recommend him to anyone taking on a project that has to succeed.
